Behind the case he is identified by a period note as Edward N. Brush. Brush was born April 23, 1852, died January 9, 1933. He grew up to be a noted physician in private practice and in several insane asylums around New York and Maryland area. Later in life he was Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry in the University of Maryland and College of Physicians and Surgeons. Edward Nathaniel Brush [ Wikipedia
