McQuown and Porters lived in Kansas and Iowa, for the most part.. the patriarch of the family, Robert, was a photographer in Binghampton Township, Iowa. The 1 6 tintype of Ellen McQuown dates to the Civil War era.. she died young, in 1880. Lot is in good antique condition with wear, bends.
