Quince December For these works I created

For these works I created a surface on the pastel paper with site specific pigments beside the reed beds of Black grass or Black reeds using their fallen leaves to “print” on the surface of the paper

I took a rucksack with materials and some fruit and water and headed off to the Dartington estate

For “tools” there are reed stems and fallen leaves or seed heads

The drawing is on Daler Rowney pastel paper (acid-free) using Rembrandt pastels

This view is enjoyed by many walkers as the Sharpham estate built some lovely seats

Quince December For these works I createdThe painting of this charming fruit after so many charcoal and ink drawing of quinces was invigorating. It was fun to layer up the colours and feel the emerging shape, almost like a women in Reubens painting it seemed to me. Or perhaps the rotund figures of the legal profession depicted by Daumier?
