There are 4 motors in the Fostex R8 two for the FF and REW one for the main capstan and this little one which engages the capstan gears and lifts the tape lifter

then they fly along

Used on the 22-2 and sometimes break

I think the last user not even knew it was there as it was a bit dusty but operates fine

Fostex R8 12 pin plug cable to connectors from the remote There are 4 motors inThis has to be one the most difficult plugs to find and it seems it was made by Fostex for Fostex, probably they wanted to make it difficult to use any other connector so you would buy their extension leads. I have found these impossible to source and mini dins, or camera plugs are just not the same, if you want to make an extension lead up you will need this. This is only the PLUG its not an extension lead , but you could use this with the panel
