but I noticed that the silver foil at the bottom ran all the way along rather than just centred and the number was different 5165005600 which would be like the normal Teac part numbering system

this is not the same in the Tascam 30 series

This was taken from  Tascam 38 but they seem to be common in all the machines I have seen
