1840s Daguerreotype Smiling Woman, Jewelry & Interesting Seals town The woman's head and shoulders1 6 plate, late 1840s daguerreotype of a woman wearing a bonnet, painted gold ring(s) and a pinpricked brooch. Comes in half of its original case. The seals are interesting: the photographer used newspaper, and much of the writing is still visible, including mention of a fire in Portland. I believe this was Portland, Maine, based on other photos I picked up out of the same estate. The seals are no longer in place they have been put back inside of the
