In 1872, brothers Raymond and Paul Lillet, merchants of fine wines, liqueurs, and spirits, founded Maison Lillet in Podensac, a small village south of Bordeaux. They created the first and only aperitif in Bordeaux: Lillet. After World War II, the small family business decided to export the brand and focus on the American
