The fabric is folded and positioned before dyeing so that the pallu forms the colour reverse of the body. During dyeing, selected sections are protected while others absorb colour. When the textile is opened and dyed again, the resisted areas shift position, creating an inverted relationship between the body and the pallu. The motif is not printed or
